Gender Equality Checklist

In the frame of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), which obliges State Parties to actively combat discrimination against women, this tool follows SDC ’s mainstreaming approach (SDC gender equality policy, Toolkit "gender in practice"), to reduce inequalities between women and men. The checklist can be used to collect gender specific information on the context where resources are allocated (credit proposals), to mainstream gender systematically from the very beginning of planning processes of any intervention, and to report on gender performance to the gender desk at the headquarters for quality assurance, knowledge management and statistical requirements. The key questions of the Gender Equality Checklist also provide the screen for the Annual Progress Report on the implementation of the SDC-Gender Equality Policy.
